Fatal Overdoses Lead To Guilty Plea By Leesburg Resident
A Leesburg resident pleaded guilty Friday to conspiring to distribute opioids that killed two people in Loudoun County: U.S. Attorney

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA—A Leesburg resident faces years behind bars after pleading guilty Friday to conspiring to distribute heroin and fentanyl that killed two people and caused a non-fatal overdose in 2016, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.
Joseph Riley Curry, 29, of Canada, faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life. He's scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 22.
According to court documents, Curry obtained heroin and fentanyl from sources and distributed it to customers in Loudoun County. The drugs killed two people in March 2016 while a third person overdosed. He was arrested in August 2017 on a state felony distribution charge. While in custody, he ordered someone to destroy evidence he thought might be used against him in a possible federal prosecution.
