Gov’t Shutdown: Feeling It? Or Just a Bunch of Hype?

As politicians continue to offer plenty of rhetoric about the government shutdown that began at midnight Oct. 1, are they hearing you?

Members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives continue to point fingers at those they believe are responsible for the shutdown, prompted by the failure of congress to pass a short-term funding agreement.

But are lawmakers hearing from their constituents about whether and how the shutdown is impacting their lives?

While Loudoun lacks the military residents of some other jurisdictions in the region, there are plenty of businesses that have created plans based on government contracts. The Federal Aviation Administration also has an air traffic control center in Leesburg.
