Leesburg Man Charged in Case Related to Oxycodone Overdose
The suspect was arrested earlier this month for allegedly selling the drug that resulted in another man's death one day after leaving rehab.
Nearly three years after a 20-year-old Leesburg man succumbed to an overdose of Oxycodone, another Leesburg man faces charges of conspiracy to distribute the highly addictive and deadly drug.
Following an investigation by the FBI’s Washington Field Office and the Loudoun County Sherriff’s Office, authorities arrested George Washington Crane V, 47, earlier this month and filed the charges. If convicted, Crane faces a mandatory 20-year sentence, with a maximum possible sentence of life in prison.
Crane allegedly purchased the drug from sources in Washington, DC, from 2006 through 2012, according to court documents. The documents also allege he primarily distributed the drug in western Loudoun.

The parents of the victim – who the Washington Post identified as William A. Huff – found him dead in his bedroom at their home on Aug. 8, 2010 from an overdose of Oxycodone. He had left a drug rehabilitation center just one day earlier, according to authorities.
The criminal complaint against Crane alleges that he sold the drug, through an intermediary, that ultimately resulted in Huff’s death.
