Leesburg Police investigating larceny at AT&T Store (blueridgeleader.com) — Leesburg police are investigating a larceny at the AT&T store in Village at Leesburg, where a man cut security cables and fled with merchandise on December 23. Investigators are asking anyone with information or surveillance footage from around 3:30 p.m. that day to contact the department or submit an anonymous tip to help identify the suspect.
   

2. Leesburg man charged with after allegedly assaulting child at basketball game: police (fox5dc.com) — Leesburg police say a man has been charged after a child was seriously injured during a basketball game at Ida Lee Park Recreation Center on Dec. 28. The 23-year-old suspect, from West Virginia, later surrendered to Leesburg Police and faces a malicious wounding charge. Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the department or submit an anonymous tip.
   

3. Machete Pulled During Road Rage Near Virginia DOT Building, Leesburg Police Say (dailyvoice.com) — Leesburg Police report that a driver allegedly smashed another car’s window with a machete during a road-rage confrontation near the VDOT facility at Lawson Road SE and Trailview Boulevard SE. The 44-year-old suspect was later arrested and charged with assault and brandishing a weapon. Investigators are still gathering information and encourage witnesses to come forward.
   

4. 5 Years After White's Ferry Closes, Poolesville Community Calls for Collaboration (loudounnow.com) — White’s Ferry, just north of Leesburg, has now been closed five years, forcing about 1,000 daily trips onto Route 15 and cutting easy access between Leesburg and Poolesville. Maryland officials are pressing Loudoun leaders, landowners, and Virginia lawmakers to collaborate on a deal before a $3 million incentive offer expires in 2026, arguing the ferry is vital for local commuting and commerce.
