• Leesburg Man Arrested After Machete Road Rage Incident (thewinchestergazette.com) — Leesburg police arrested a 44-year-old local man after an alleged machete-wielding road rage incident near Lawson Road SE and Trailview Boulevard SE, where a vehicle’s passenger window was shattered. The suspect was charged with assault and brandishing a weapon and is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. Investigators are seeking additional information from anyone who witnessed the encounter.
   

• Riccardi Outlines School Board Priorities (loudounnow.com) — A new Loudoun County School Board member with experience working for Leesburg’s representative, Lauren Shernoff, is outlining priorities that could affect local schools, budgets, and safety policies. She emphasizes clearer budgeting, stronger support for English learners and Title I schools, more transparency, and expanded school resource officer coverage. Leesburg families may also see Shernoff pushed for the board chair role.
   

• How To Recycle Christmas Trees In Loudoun County After 2025 Holidays (patch.com) — Leesburg residents can recycle live Christmas trees for free at the Loudoun County Landfill Recycling Center on Evergreen Mills Road from Dec. 26, 2025, through Jan. 20, 2026. The county also offers four other drop-off sites, and all trees must be bare of decorations so they can be turned into free mulch for residents.
