PHOTOS: Leesburg Celebrates Memorial Day
A crowd turned out for the annual laying of the wreaths ceremony in honor of those who lost their lives for our country.
Residents turned out in large numbers for Leesburg's annual Memorial Day ceremony at the Loudoun County Courthouse, including a laying of the wreaths at the war memorials on the grounds.

Participants in the event included the Loudoun County High School NJROTC, VFW Post 1177 and its Honor Guard, Boy Scout Troop 1159, Girl Scout Troops 0668, 13, 4101 and 6798, Pastor John Fontanella of Leesburg Community Church, Mayor Kristen Umstattd, Lt. Gen. Mills, David Michel (playing Taps), Tim Kirkpatrick (bagpipes) and multiple reenactors.
