1 Dead, 1 Critically Hurt In 2-Vehicle Crash On I-95: State Police
The driver of a BMW was killed when he collided with another vehicle on northbound Interstate 955 near Lorton and was run over, police said.
LORTON, VA — The driver of a BMW was killed when he was thrown from his convertible and run over by another vehicle on northbound Interstate 955 near Lorton, a Virginia State Police spokesman said.
The crash happened Monday afternoon at the 163 mile-marker as two vehicles were traveling at a high rate of speed, officials said in a news release. As the BMW driver changed lanes, the car struck a third vehicle, went off the right side of the interstate and struck the guardrail and the jersey wall.
The driver of the BMW, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the car, and then run over by the vehicle the victim had collided with, state police said. The injured driver died at the scene.

A passenger in the BMW, who was also not wearing a seatbelt, was partially thrown from the car, and taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, state police said.
Authorities have not released the names of the drivers or passengers in the two vehicles, or said if any changes have been filed.
