Fairfax County Students to Talk Long-Distance With Space Station Astronaut

Next week, students in six Fairfax County Public Schools will have the chance to talk long-distance with astronauts in space on the International Space Station. Next week is International Education Week, and the live in-flight education downlink is being hosted by the U.S. Department of Education.

Space station resident an Expedition 29 Commander Mike Fossum will speak with the students. 

These schools will participate:

• Hayfield Secondary  
• Thoreau Middle School 
• Cooper Middle School 
• Frost Middle School 
• Lanier Middle School 
• Walt Whitman Middle School

The event will be held at the Department of Education auditorium in the District.
