A light schedule

Yesterday was a light day in the local sports schedule.

The Hayfield softball team was leading Falls Church 13-0 when lightning suspended action in the fourth inning. The game will be finished prior to the teams' April 14 rematch.

Amber Fowler pitched the first three innings and drove home five runs with two singles and a double. Taylor Neuhart plated two with a single and double. She also pitched an inning. Brittany Creamer homered, Taryn McElehenny drove in a run and Katelyn Thorne excelled in the field.

Hayfield Boys Tennis lost a close one yesterday to Wakefield 5 matches to 4.

Brian Heilbronner and Hunter Woodall won singles matches. Playing with William Haas,  Heilbronner won in doubles. Woodall also won in doubles, playing with Saif Khen.

The boys are at Edison tomorrow.
