A recap of yesterday's sports scores from Lorton area schools: BASEBALL Hayfield stayed unblemished on the year with a 9-3 win over Mount Vernon. Michael Askew got the win while Ben Harris picked up the save, Cameron Lundmark had four hits to lead the way offensively while also taking part in three double plays in the field. The Hawks play Yorktown today. South County edge West Springfield 7-4 in their closest game of the year. The Stallions play Lee today. SOFTBALL South County handled West Springfield 8-3, with Julia Kastner slamming a homer and driving in four. The Stallions are at Lee tonight. LACROSSE The Hayfield girls beat Woodbridge 16-3, while the Hawk boys fell to Woodbridge 17-9. They play Washington-Lee tomorrow. SOCCER The South County boys played to a 1-1 tie with Woodson. They play TC Williams today. The girls had senior night, but fell to Woodson, 3-2. See photos here.
