MD Man Dies From Injuries In Lorton Car Crash
A Maryland man died Saturday from injuries he received in a car crash that occurred around 5:15 a.m. on July 16 in Lorton, police said.

LORTON, VA — A Maryland man died Saturday from injuries he received in a car crash that occurred around 5:15 a.m. on July 16 in Lorton, the Fairfax County Police Department said Sunday.
Santos Casco Sierra, 24, was seriously injured in a single vehicle crash on Richmond Highway near Woodside Lane. He was the only occupant of the 2010 Ford Fusion.
Detectives from the FCPD’s Crash Reconstruction Unit determined the Ford Fusion was traveling south on Richmond Highway when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree and caught on fire. Fairfax County Fire and Rescue personnel arrived to extinguish the fire and remove Casco Sierra from the car.

Casco Sierra was taken to an area hospital. Speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, police said.
Casco Sierra’s death was the eighth non-pedestrian crash-related fatality in the county to date in 2022. Year to date in 2021, there were six non-pedestrian crash-related fatalities.
