Second Saturday at the Workhouse Arts Center is always fun. Have you been? It was a little slow on October 8, but there were still great opportunities to take photos.

The evening was spiced up with poetry, and Taylor Whitney won a $1,000 scholarship for this poem:

Running Like Rimbaud

I can't find poetry in these words
they're broken beetle legs 
curled on the paper
but running
oh I feel the poetry in that
pounding out sonnets
beneath my worn sneakers
breathing in in in
stanzas of sweet air
breathing out out out
haikus of hot breath
muschles cry out in metaphors
