UPDATE: The traffic-related death of a 57-year-old pedestrian on the evening of March 11 near Fort Belvoir has been deemed a suicide. Patrick Early, 57, of Washington DC, was struck and killed by a 1997 Ford pick-up truck at around 11:20 p.m. in an unlit section of the Fairfax County Parkway going south near Ehlers Road.  <ul> <li>See Pedestrian Killed on Fairfax County Parkway Identified</li> </ul> "He was standing in the roadway. We don't know why," said Fairfax County Police spokesperson Lucy Caldwell in a previous interview. "The driver saw the person standing there, he braked but it was too late."
