Lorton Playground Sees Repeated Graffiti and Destruction
It's been going on for years
For more than three years, a Lorton playground has been damaged and stained by fresh graffiti and destruction.
The playground and children's area along Plaskett Lane is speckled with four-letter words, a gang symbol and messages like "My alarm clock constantly gives birth." The homeowners association has also had to repair a nearby gazebo. Wooden slats and seat supports have been kicked out.
The playground lies in the Laurel Ridge Crossing neighborhood.

So, who is to blame? Kids and teenagers is the consensus. Most of the graffiti has been done with a black marker and the subject matter is mostly childlike.
An HOA contractor is expected to remove the writings soon. A senior member of the Laurel Ridge Crossing Homeowners Association leadership feared retaliation and declined to be quoted for this story.
