South County Lacrosse Teams Drop Openers

Fall to strong Westfield teams

The South County boys and girls lacrosse teams dropped their openers to Westfield on Tuesday. In the first game under new coach John Nolan, the boys fell 15-4.  The Bulldogs got the better of things on face offs and 50-50 ground balls, getting an early lead and staying on top via the pressure defense.

Coach Nolan said, “We had glimpses of great offense and defense, bur not enough to get the job done.”

The Stallions girls fell by a 15-5 margin, with two of South County’s goals coming courtesy of junior Cassidy Moses. Senior midfielder Patty Rafferty, junior Tara O’Connor and sophomore Lindsay Lawrence also netted goals.
