South County Little League Season is Under Way
Saturday festivities open season with two new fields
Though the skies and thermometer might have said November the calendar said it’s time for Opening Day. Despite heavy cloud cover and damp conditions, the South County Little League launched its 2011 campaign on Saturday in a festive atmosphere at Lower Potomac Park.
Not only did Saturday mark the beginning of a new season it also marked the opening of Fields #4 and #5, one of which is a T-Ball field while the other is a regulation field.
The new fields will allow for more games to be played in a single location as opposed to being scattered throughout the area, which is not a small consideration in a league with 18 teams and approximately 200 players.
