
It was about 48 degrees at 1:00 on Tuesday morning, election day, along Old Keene Mill Road in West Springfield when Patch nearly ran into Carl Eckel, a field organizer for the Fairfax County Democrats.
Eckel was planting campaign signs for , who is running against incumbent Republican , for Virginia's 42nd District.
"I started work on Monday at 8:00 in the morning. It's really not too bad for me, though," Eckel said. "There are a lot of people who haven't slept for at least two days."
