Congratulations to this week’s Whiz Kid, Kathleen Taylor, a senior at Hayfield Secondary School.
Kathleen is a recipient of the prestigious National Merit Scholarship. She qualified for the honor thanks to her score on her PSATs, but earned it due to her SAT scores, academics, activities, and an essay she wrote.
Kathleen will use the $2,500 in scholarship money toward room and board at Randolph College in Lynchburg, where she received a full academic scholarship. She plans to continue playing the flute, as she has at Hayfield, while majoring in Classics in Education.
