A 12-year-old girl was arrested after strangling a fellow student at Stonewall Middle School, according to Prince William County Police.

MANASSAS, VA—A 12-year-old girl was arrested Tuesday after strangling a fellow student in Stonewall Middle School at 10100 Lomond Drive a week earlier, according to Prince William County Police. She was charged with strangulation, and her case is being handled by the juvenile court services unit.
Shortly after 2:30 p.m. on March 5, police began investigating a reported assault on school property. They found that the girl had been involved in an argument with another 12-year-girl that escalated. That's when she hit the other girl in the upper body and then grabbed her by the neck, obstructing her air flow.
The girls were separated, and the School Resource Officer was notified.
