Man Enters Car In Carjacking Attempt In Sudley Road Corridor: Police

Prince William County Police say a man entered a woman's vehicle in a carjacking attempt on Tuesday afternoon.

MANASSAS, VA — An attempted carjacking was reported Tuesday afternoon in the Manassas area of Prince William County, according to police.

Around 3:11 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the area of Sudley Road and Portsmouth Road. Prince William County Police say a 61-year-old woman was stopped at a stop sign when an unknown man approached and got into the passenger side. The man damaged the inside and attempted to remove the keys. A physical altercation followed before the suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The vehicle was not taken in the carjacking attempt, and the victim was not injured. Police do not believe a weapon was visible.

Police, a K-9 unit and a helicopter responded to search for the suspect. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man around 30 years old, bald, and 6 foot 2 with a muscular build and tattoos. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.
