E-Scooter Rider Dies After Crash With Vehicle In Manassas Area: Police
Prince William County Police say a driver was driving without a license in the crash that killed an e-scooter rider.
MANASSAS, VA — An e-scooter rider died after a Wednesday crash in the Sudley area of Prince William County, according to police.
The crash happened around 8:58 p.m. Wednesday at Portsmouth Road and Ashland Avenue. Police say a 2020 Dodge Journey driver was heading north on Portsmouth Road and started to turn left onto Ashland Avenue. A rider on a Ninebot KickScooter was heading south on the sidewalk on Portsmouth Road and continued into the intersection without stopping. The vehicle and e-scooter collided.
The e-scooter rider, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to the hospital. Police were notified on Thursday that he died. The rider was identified as Eric Corrales, 40, of Manassas.

Police determined the Dodge driver was driving without a valid driver's license. Little David Arris Bowser Mason, 37, of Manassas, was charged with driving without a valid operator’s license. He was released on a court summons.
Police continue to investigate to determine if other charges will be sought.
