Fake Cops Busted Near Haymarket: Police
Two men were arrested after trying to pull over vehicles via a loudspeaker under the auspice of being cops near Haymarket, say PWC Police.
HAYMARKET, VA—Two men were arrested Tuesday, April 2, after trying to pull over vehicles via a mobile loudspeaker under the auspice of being cops in the area of James Madison Highway and John Marshall Highway, according to Prince William County Police.
Charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer were Kevin Alexander Calderon, 20, of the 14200 block of Legend Glen Court in Gainesville, and Evan Peter Guthrie, 19, of the 6100 block of Willow Place in Bealton.
Shortly before 2 p.m., police began investigating an incident in the aforementioned area in which "individuals falsely represented themselves as police officers." They found that the incident began at the intersection when a blue Dodge pickup used a public address system in an attempt to pull over a vehicle.

The driver said the two unknown men in the pickup weren't wearing anything identifying themselves as police officers. After going through the intersection, the truck sped around the victim and then used the PA system again, this time telling the vehicle in front of her they were the police and to pull over.
A be-on-the-lookout call was issued to law enforcement, and a Fauquier County Sheriff's Officer spotted the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The men were arrested without incident.
