Macy's Shoplifter Attempts to Bite Security Guard
An accused shoplifter at the Macy's in Manassas Mall reportedly tried to bite a security officer and provided police with a false identity.

Prince William County Police have arrested a man accused of shoplifting from a Macy’s store and attempting to bite the security guard who tried to detain him.
Officers responded to a report of shoplifting Thursday, Oct. 16 at the Macy’s in Manassas Mall, located at 8270 Sudley Road.
Once officers arrived at the store, store security informed them that the accused took assorted clothing items and left the store without paying. As security attempted to detain the suspect, the accused reportedly attempted to bite one of them on the hand. No contact was made.

Officers then attempted to arrest the accused, who actively resisted. After a brief struggle ensued, the accused was detained without further incident.
The accused provided officers a false identity during questioning.

Roger Gonzalez, 21, was arrested oct. 16 and charged with attempted malicious wounding, resisting arrest, grand larceny and providing false ID to police. He is scheduled to appear before court Nov. 17 and is being held on a $7,500 secured bond.
