Man Arrested After Shooting Gun At Vehicles In Manassas: Police

A man was arrested after shooting and damaging several vehicles with a BB gun in a Manassas neighborhood, according to Manassas City Police.

MANASSAS, VA—A man was arrested Friday, March 29, after shooting several vehicles with a BB gun in the area of Wellington Road and Ashton Avenue, according to Manassas City Police. Kevin Miranda Giron, 31, of Manassas, was charged with five counts of destruction of property, five counts of discharging an air gun within city limits and two counts of carrying a concealed weapon.

Around 12:15 p.m., police were dispatched to the aforementioned area for a report of reckless driving and a person with a gun. A caller said a white GMC SUV was traveling recklessly and an occupant was waving a gun in the air.

A witness then reported seeing someone in the vehicle fire shots from a black gun at a vehicle parked on the 9300 block of Taney Road. Police ultimately found that multiple vehicles had been hit—and damaged—with what likely was "a BB gun projectile."

Officers spotted the vehicle and pulled it over in the area of Byrd Drive and Bragg Lane. A search of the SUV found a BB gun, as well as two machetes. Miranda Giron was arrested without incident. No injuries were reported.
