Man Faces Murder Charge After Hit-And-Run In Manassas: Police
A woman has died of her injuries in a hit-and-run incident Sunday night in Manassas, and a Maryland man has been charged with murder.

MANASSAS, VA—A woman has died of her injuries in a hit-and-run incident Sunday night in the 9600 block of Cloverhill Road, and a Maryland man has been charged with second-degree murder, according to Manassas City Police. Shamsa Begum, 66, of Manassas, was taken to an area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Muhammad Taha, 29, of Maryland, was charged with second-degree murder, felony hit and run involving death, driving under the influence and open container. He is being held without bond.
Police say Begum was standing on Cloverhill Road when she was intentionally struck by Taha, who was known to her. After he fled, Taha was later found at a convenience store at 12125 Dumfries Road and arrested.
