Osbourn High School to Unveil Renovated Wing Tuesday
The Joseph B. Johnson Learning Wing at Osbourn High School will be unveiled at a ribbon cutting Tuesday, Sept. 23.

The City of Manassas School Board is set to unveil the new Osbourn High School Joseph B. Johnson Learning Wing at a ribbon cutting Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 5:30 p.m.
The Johnson Wing will host the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) college/career readiness program and STEM opportunities as well as online and accelerated courses.
The wing is named after Joseph “Joe” B. Johnson, a life-long Manassas resident and 1942 graduate of the original Osbourn High School. Known as a founding father of the school division, Johnson served as a member of the School Board from 1975 until his retirement in 2001.

Construction of the wing took place from February through August of this year. An accompanying breezeway will undergo construction from June to August 2016, according to Manassas City Public Schools.
Johnson and other community leaders will join the School Board at the event, which includes a performance by Osbourn High School Orchestra students, remarks from school and division leadership and a guided tour of the facility.
