• Shots Fired at Vehicle in Manassas Leads to Arrest (potomaclocal.com) — Manassas police are investigating a January 4 shooting in which a local man allegedly fired at an occupied vehicle on Dumfries Road after a confrontation, though no injuries have been reported and no victims have come forward. Officers quickly arrested a 39-year-old suspect, who faces multiple firearm-related charges, and are asking anyone with information to contact them as the case remains active.
   

• Two regional hospitals mandate masks in high-risk areas amid flu spike (insidenova.com) — If you’re heading to a UVA Health hospital in Manassas, you’ll now need to mask up in the emergency department as flu and respiratory illnesses surge. Inova has similar rules in its ERs, while Sentara strongly encourages masking, and all systems urge residents with mild symptoms to use urgent care or virtual visits instead of crowding emergency rooms.
