MANASSAS, VA—A Georgia man was charged Monday after carjacking a vehicle and then crashing into a home in the 8000 block of Maplewood Drive, according to Prince William County Police. Marlon Bradford Summerville, 39, of the 700 block of Chapel Hill Drive in Lawrenceville, was charged with carjacking and possession of marijuana.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m., police were summoned to the 7-Eleven at 8211 Old Centreville for a reported carjacking. A 48-year-old man said he left his vehicle running while he went into the store. When he came out, he found an unknown man in his vehicle. They struggled but Summerville pushed the man out and drove away in his vehicle.

Shortly thereafter, police were dispatched to Maplewood Drive for a reported crash. Turns out Summerville lost control and crashed into a home, causing a gas leak in the house and power lines to fall. He was taken to a local hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. Police, who found marijuana on Summerville, will serve the warrants when he's released from the hospital.
