Wheelchair Accessibility Boosted At Manassas Battlefield Park
New all-terrain wheelchairs at Manassas National Battlefield Park will help visitors better access more of the park.
MANASSAS, VA — Wheelchair users will now have an easier time navigating the Manassas National Battlefield Park.
On Monday, the park introduced a new service with two manually powered all-terrain wheelchairs. With mountain bike wheels and manual lever propulsion, the wheelchairs will help visitors better access the battlefield, according to the National Park Service.
"The all-terrain wheelchairs are the first phase of the park’s increased accessibility strategy," said Superintendent Kris Butcher. "Providing equitable access for all visitors is an integral part of our mission. I look forward to continuing to provide more opportunities for all visitors to experience Manassas National Battlefield Park."
