Men Accused of Stealing Water From Fire Hydrant

A Springfield man and a Woodbridge man were charged Saturday after police said they were caught stealing water from a fire hydrant.

Manassas Park Police charged two men who they say stole 600 gallons of water from a fire hydrant on Saturday.

Someone called police at 9:30 a.m. and said two construction company workers were removing water from a fire hydrant at LaPaz place without permission, Manassas Park Police reports show.

Officers tracked down the construction company vehicles, which were carrying concrete, and discovered that 600 gallons of water was stolen.

The water is valued at $199.99, according to reports.

A 60-year-old Springfield man and a 43-year-old Woodbridge man are charged with petit larceny. They were released on a summons and are expected to appear in court in April.
