Police: Driver Crashes into Wall, Remains at Large

Police are trying to find a man who crashed his Mercedes into a wall, then got out and ran from an officer.

A man who drove his car into a wooden wall before running from police is still at large, Manassas Park Police investigators said Monday.

It happened just after 10 p.m near Sandstone Way and Englewood Court off of Manassas Drive when a Manassas Park Police officer tried to stopped the driver of a 2006 Mercedes Benz for a traffic violation. 

The driver turned on to White Pine Drive and then onto Overhill Drive where he struck a wooden retaining wall with the car before running from the vehicle, police reports show.

The officer chased him, but wasn't able to find the suspect.

Officers know the name of the suspect but declined to publicly identify him until after the arrest.

He is facing charges of felony eluding, hit-and-run and driving with a suspended license.
