Three teenagers were arrested after police said they stole a small utility vehicle, wrecked it, then tried to fix it with a baseball bat, according to a Manassas Park Police Department press release.

It happened at 3 a.m. on Aug. 29 on the 7200 block of Centreville Road when Prince William County Police noticed three teens with flashlights behind a building, trying to repair a John Deere Gator 4X2 utility vehicle.
The officers detained the boys and called Manassas Park Police officers to the scene.

The teens later told police they stole the Gator because they were bored, according to the release.
After stealing the vehicle, they drove it off road and wrecked it, then tried to fix it with a baseball bat, the suspects told police.

The three suspects, all of Prince William County and all between the ages of 15 and 17, were arrested and charged by county police with curfew violation and underage possession of tobacco.
Manassas Park Police obtained petitions for grand larceny, conspiracy to commit a felony, felony destruction of property and trespassing in connection with the theft.
The children were released into the custody of their parents.
