Police: Woman Caught Disconnecting Spark Plugs in Relative's Car

Police said the woman pulled off the spark plugs in a family member's car and stole the necklaces that hung on the rear-view mirror.

Police responding to a disturbance call at a Manassas Park home on Monday opened a car door and found one of the victim's relatives inside; later, they discovered that she was tampering with the vehicle's spark plugs and wires.

It happened just after 9 p.m. at a house on Cabbel Drive, where police found the woman inside her family member's 1996 Plymouth, Manassas Park Police said.

Police released the woman (whose name is not being published due to the minor nature of the crime) and she walked away. A short while later, the victim got in the car but it wouldn't start. He later discovered, with the help of a repairman, that someone had disconnected the car's spark plugs, police said.
