MCLEAN, VA — A McLean family woke up Saturday morning to find 10 chickens and one Sebastopol goose, were missing from their property.

"You got to get up in the morning, let 'em out, feed 'em, check on them midday and then at night you have to come tuck them in bed, lock them up because we have predators," Chris Gilbert owner of Bullneck Run Farm, told NBC4’s Julie Carey

On3 of the reasons Gilbert said that he keeps Sebastopol geese is that the honk loudly and flap their wings when a predator is nearby, NBC4 reports.

Finding no evidence that a fox or some other predator had stolen the birds and that a surveillance camera had been disabled for a period of time, Gilbert concluded that someone had entered his property and took the birds, according to NBC4. He plans to file a police report about the incident.
