FAIRFAX, VA — Before Fairfax County Board Chair Jeff McKay (D-At-Large) introduced newly elected congressman James Walkinshaw to a jubilant crowd of supporters at Tandoori Fairfax on Tuesday night, he had some bad news to share about the special election results.

"There's one precinct, the Merrifield Precinct, that only delivered 90 percent," he joked, which elicited a loud response from the audience.

In total, Walkinshaw won all 175 precincts in Fairfax County with about 75 percent of the vote at each, according to unofficial results from the Virginia Department of Elections.
