2 New Food Options Coming To McLean's Chesterbrook Shopping Center

MCLEAN, VA — In the wake of the July 17 opening of the Sassanova fashion, Chesterbrook Shopping Center will soon be welcoming two new food options for McLean residents to enjoy.

Specializing in fresh, seasonal food, Sweetgreen is plan to open its new location at 6220 Old Dominion Drive in early November. The 2,571-square-foot storefront was previously occupied by BB&T Bank.

"We're on a mission to build healthier communities by connecting people to real food," according to Sweetgreen's website. "We make delicious salads, bowls, protein plates and more with thoughtfully sourced ingredients that fill you up and make you feel good."

The Sweetgreen in McLean will be food chain's 13th location in Northern Virginia. McLean residents who can't wait until the fall to try Sweetgreen's signature bowls, salads, and protein plates can visit two nearby locations in the Tysons Galleria (2001 International Drive in McLean) or Mosaic District (2905 District Ave., Suite 185, in Fairfax).

After 15 years of being D.C.'s beloved fast-casual restaurant chain, Surfside is planning to open its first Virginia location next spring. The restaurant will be located at 6218 Old Dominion Drive.

"The menu features tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas, and burritos named after iconic islands and coastal towns like Cozumel, Port Antonio, Malibu, and Martha’s Vineyard," according to a release. "Guests can enjoy frozen and tropical cocktails on tap — including margaritas and sangria — beneath a ceiling lined with vintage surfboards."

Surfside taco stands can also be found in Dupont Circle, Tenleytown, and The Wharf in the District , as well as Nantucket, Massachusetts.
