Applications For Affordable Housing Now Open To Seniors In Fairfax Co.
Fairfax County is now accepting applications from seniors to get on the waitlists for affordable housing properties in the county.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Applications are now being accepted to get on the waitlist for select affordable housing properties in Fairfax County that are available to people who are 62 years and older.
Seniors can apply by using Rent Café, an online housing application portal. The link for applications will remain live through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19.

- The Fallstead: One-bedroom apartments for people 62 and older located at 1609 Great Falls Street in McLean.
- One University Senior (The Belmont): One-bedroom apartments for people 62 and older to be located at 4518 University Drive in Fairfax. This property is currently under construction.
People can visit the Fairfax County website to find instructions on how to apply for the properties on Rent Café. People who need assistance can call 703-246-5100 or visit the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority office at 3700 Pender Drive in Fairfax.
Applicants will be randomly placed on a waiting list for the properties. All applications received have an equal opportunity to be selected.

Once a unit becomes available, the waiting list applicants will be contacted, screened, and determined eligible based on income level, household size, and the size of the rental unit. Households cannot currently be receiving other federal rental housing assistance to qualify.
