TYSONS, VA — Patch obtained new information about the arrest of Logan Russell Farrell, 38, earlier this month for soliciting sexual acts from a minor at the Spring Hill Metro station in Tysons.

On Nov. 1, a detective with the Fairfax County Police interviewed a 15-year-old girl and her father. The pair came to the McLean District Station after the father found sexually suggestive text messages from Farrell on his daughter’s phone, according to court documents.

The victim told the detective that Farrell had approached her on or about Oct. 20 near the Metro station and offered to sell her marijuana, court records say. The victim declined the offer and told Farrell she was 15.

Farrell then offered the girl $100 to engage in sexual intercourse, according to court documents. After Farrell withdrew $100 from a nearby ATM, he handed the money to the teen. They then walked to a nearby parking garage, where they engaged in sexual intercourse, court records said. The two then exchange phone numbers.

The detective obtained permission from the father and his daughter to search her phone and assume her identity.

Using the phone, the detective contacted Farrell. During the text conversation, Farrell asked that the 15-year-old girl send him a photo of her breast and face and asked if he could perform oral sex on her, court documents say. The detective then received two photos of Farrell’s erect penis on the phone.

Detectives from FCPD’s Child Exploitation Unit obtained a search warrant for solicitation of a minor, court records say.

On Nov. 2, Fairfax County Police located Farrell and brought him to the McLean Station, where he was read his rights and interviewed. During the interview, he admitted knowing the victim was a minor and that he had sent the text message and photos of his genitals the day before, according to court records.

Police arrested Farrell and charged him with trafficking of a minor, production of child pornography and four counts of solicitation of a minor. He was held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Farrell has a hearing scheduled for Jan. 9, 2025, in Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, according to court records.
