COVID Vaccination Sites To Close At 2 Fairfax County Malls

TYSONS, VA — Two COVID-19 vaccination sites in Fairfax County are planned to close this week, the Fairfax County Health Department announced.

The Community Vaccination Center in the former Lord & Taylor store in Tysons Corner Corner will close at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 25. The Virginia Department of Health site has provided around 58,000 vaccine doses since opening in October 2021.

The Springfield Town Center vaccination site will close at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 27. Hours on the last two days will be noon to 4 p.m. on March 26 and 27. The site is run by the Fairfax County Health Department’s High Risk Communities Task Force, Medical Reserve Corps Volunteers and Safeway Pharmacy.

COVID-19 vaccines remain available at the Fairfax County Government Center and the Hyland South County Government Center. Walk-ins are open Mondays and Thursday from noon to 5:30 p.m. and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Fairfax County Government Site clinic is also open Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Pop-up clinics continue to be scheduled around Fairfax County at houses of worship, schools, businesses and special events.

Dr. Gloria Addo-Ayensu, director of the Fairfax County Health Department, urges eligible residents to get vaccinated or a booster shot. COVID-19 vaccines can be given to anyone ages 5 and up, while boosters are available for ages 12 and up.

"COVID-19 vaccines remain highly effective in protecting against severe illness, hospitalizations and death," said Addo-Ayensu in a statement. "It is important to stay up to date on vaccinations and continue adhering to layered prevention practices to protect yourself and others."
