Bierman Claims Victory In Primary For Dranesville District Supervisor

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Jimmy Bierman claimed victory shortly after 10 p.m. on Tuesday in the Democratic primary for Dranesville District supervisor.

Bierman had 70 percent of the vote as of 10 p.m., compared to 30 percent of the vote for David Fiske.

“We ran a people-powered campaign on a positive message and being there for our constituents," Bierman said in a statement Tuesday night. "This victory is about continuing to live our values and making sure Fairfax County stays a welcoming place to live. I look forward to uniting with our Democratic ticket to put forth a positive vision."

Current Dranesville District Supervisor John Foust decided not to see re-election to a fifth term in office.

Bierman is a McLean resident and former Dranesville District Democratic Committee chair. Fiske, also a McLean resident, is an entrepreneur, a scientist, a civic leader and a youth mentor.

The Dranesville District includes McLean, Great Falls, Herndon, and some areas of Vienna and Falls Church. It runs from the Arlington border to the Loudoun County border along the Potomac River.

For those who requested a mail-in ballot, it must be postmarked on or before June 20. The mail must be received by the Fairfax County Office of Elections before noon on Friday, June 23.

Before the polls opened at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, 33,235 ballots had already been cast countywide in the primary either through early voting or by absentee, according to the Fairfax County Office of Elections.
