Election 2016: 66,808 Absentee Ballots Cast by Fairfax County Voters, as of Monday

Deadline to request an absentee ballot be mailed to you is Tuesday; you can also get an absentee ballot in person.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Some 66,808 Fairfax County residents have already voted in this year's election, the county's office of elections announced Monday. Nearly 5,000 voted on Saturday in-person absentee.

The county's votes account for 28 percent of Virginia's in-person absentee votes so far, according to the elections office.

  • 53,830: Number of absentee voting by mail ballots mailed out to voters in Fairfax County
  • 23,034: Number of county residents who have voted absentee by mail.
  • 43,774: Number of county residents who have voted absentee in person.

Saturday, Nov. 5, is the last day to vote in-person absentee before Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8. The deadline to request that an absentee ballot be mailed to you is tomorrow (Tuesday, Nov. 1). The state Department of Elections has extended their customer service hours and is available to answer your voter-related questions from the hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Customer service hours have also extended to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call (800) 552-9745 and select Option 1 if you have a question about voting.
