Emergency Food Appeal from Share

Share completely out of some food items

Our shelves are stripped bare! Please Help!

This is the appeal that Share, one of McLean's leading food pantries and general assistance organizations, sent out last week.

"This is an urgent appeal to all SHARE members for donations to the food pantry. Our shelves are stripped bare. Please pass this message to your friends and neighbors," said the Share appeal. "Food items can be dropped off during food room hours (Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 9:30 until 12 noon), or in the after-hours bin, located next to our entrance on the side of McLean Baptist Church."

Established in 1969 by a coalition of religious and civic institutions, Share exists to meet the emergency needs of those in need in McLean, Great Falls, Pimmit Hills, and surrounding areas. That need is growing, even in McLean.

Items that we're completely out of:

peanut butter

grape or strawberry jelly or jam

white sugar

coffee

black tea

mayonnaise

cooking oil

chunky chicken soups (only)

100% juice

bars of soap

toothpaste

laundry detergent

Things that we will be out of by next week:

tuna fish

cereal
