Fire Destroys Great Falls Home Early Sunday
A passerby called 911 when they saw the house on fire early Sunday; no one was home during the fire.

GREAT FALLS, VA -- A passerby who saw flames called 911 early Sunday when they saw a Great Falls house on fire, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue. No one was home during the fire, the fire department said.
Damages were estimated to be $726,250 which is the current total value of the home, the fire department said. Investigators said the fire started in a second floor bedroom, but the exact cause is still under investigation.
At approximately 2:33 a.m. on Sunday, firefighter units were dispatched to a house on fire in the 1000 block of Northfalls Court in the Great Falls area of the County:

Units arrived on the scene of a two-story, single family home that was on fire on multiple floors, according to the fire department.
Although Red Cross offered assistance to the resident or residents of the home, the fire department said the assistance was declined. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries. Investigation into the fire determined that the fire started in a second floor bedroom area with the exact cause still under investigation.
