Fire and Rescue Units Save Dog from House Fire in McLean (ICYMI)
The fire occurred in the attic of a home on Dempsey Street Sunday afternoon. No injuries were reported from the scene.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Units responded to a fire in the attic of a single-family home in McLean Sunday afternoon.
Responders arrived on the scene at 1638 Dempsey Street at approximately 4:30 p.m. and found smoke and fire coming from the attic and roof of the home. Fire investigators determined the cause of the fire to be “an unidentified electrical event in the attic.”
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in approximately 15 minutes. The only occupant inside the home when the fire occurred was a dog who rescue units successfully saved from the house. Two adults and a child were reportedly displaced by the fire and are being aided by the Red Cross.

No injuries were reported on the scene, but the fire damage is estimated at $70,000.
