Higher User Fees For Fairfax County Park Authority Facilities In 2024
New user fees will take effect on Jan. 1 at Fairfax County Park Authority facilities, including at golf courses and recreation centers.
FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — New fees will take effect on Jan. 1 at Fairfax County Park Authority facilities, including at golf courses and recreation centers.
The Fairfax County Park Authority Board approved the new fees at its Dec. 13 meeting.
The Park Authority is funded through a combination of tax dollars and fee-based services. User fees allocated to the Fairfax County Park Authority’s revenue and operating fund represent about 60 percent of the agency’s overall operating budget.

The Fairfax County Park Authority Board considers fee adjustments on an annual basis. The Park Authority said it tries to minimize the impact of fees on users, while safeguarding the financial stability of park programs and services.
Golf course greens fees, for example, will climb about $2 for nine holes and less than $10 for 18 holes. Greens fees will not change at the county's Oak Marr Golf Course in Oakton. Fees for nine holes of golf at Greendale Golf Course on Telegraph Road also will not change.

General admission fees at all rec centers in the county will go up by $1.50 for adults and young people aged 5 to 18.
For Jan. 1, new fees will go into effect for these Fairfax County Park Authority facilities and services:
- Greens fees
- Driving range fees
- Laurel Hill Golf Course annual memberships
- Rec center general admission
- Weekend and holiday leisure pool admissions (Cub Run Rec Center)
- Rec center indoor swimming pool base rates
- Rec center discount fast pass fee
- Water mine single and group admissions
- Water mine picnic area, shade structure, funbrella rentals
- Picnic facility and amphitheater rentals (Lake Accotink, Mason District and Franconia Parks)
- Commercial photography reservations
- Park amusements
