Holiday Craft Beer Available in McLean: Get in the Spirit of the Season

McLEAN, VA -- Is there a craft beer aficionado on your holiday gift list? You can take them to sample a special holiday brew called Winterbock at Gordon Biersch Brewery in Mclean at Tysons Corner Center. Here's a description of the brew from the folks at the Virginia Tourism Bureau:

This German-style doppelbock has a deep mahogany color, strong German malts, and a touch of spicy hops, bringing to mind the traditional flavors of pumpernickel bread with hints of caramel, dates, and a smoky-sweet aftertaste. The brew’s versatile nature allows it to pair with almost any holiday meal.

The Winterbock brew is one of at least a dozen holiday craft beers included in a roundup for craft beer lovers during the holidays. Many of these are small batch brews are only available at the respective breweries, and they may run out quickly due to popular demand, the Virginia Tourism Bureau warned. You should contact the brewery before you visit to make sure these winter beers are still in stock.

Gordon Biersch Brewery features seven plasma televisions, as well as a magnificent view of the restaurant's brewing facilities; brewery tours and beer samplings are given by the Brew Master and staff.

Beers are brewed on-site in small batches "using only the finest and purest ingredients, including authentic Weyermann malt and Hersbrucker hops imported from Germany," according to the Virginia Tourism Bureau.
