Lacrosse: Langley Girls, Boys Vie for Liberty District Title
Langley faces Madison in a boys-girls double header Friday evening.

Last year, the Madison High School defeated Langley High School in an 18-17 thriller to win the Liberty District championship.
Friday evening, the teams are set up for a repeat of last year's title game, as the Warhawks and Saxons face off at Langley High School.
Langley girls' lacross head Coach Richard DeSomma said his team is probably a combination of nervous and excited.

"I think we all know it's going to be competitive. Historically, it's a big match up for both teams," he said.
If Langley wins Friday evening, it will probably be considered an upset.

Like in 2012, both Langley (10-3) and Madison have had stellar 2013 seasons.
Langley Boys
The two schools' boys lacross teams are also facing on Friday evening.
Reportedly, the Madison boys lacrosse team is feeling good heading into Friday's championship game against Langley — a team they haven't beaten all season.
Now at 11-5 (6-1), Madison and Langley (also 11-5, 6-1) are tied for the top seed in the district.
“I would definitely say we kind of have a chip on our shoulder,” injured Madison player Kyle Rowe told the Washington Post. “In our time at Madison, we’ve never beaten Langley or Chantilly, so those losses really made us pretty mad. So we definitely would love to see those guys again and try to give them our best shot with a healthy team.”
The boys' game kicks off the double header at 6 p.m. at Langley High School in McLean. The girls play at 8 p.m. on the same field.
