Local Farm Sanctuary Seeks Volunteers
Hope & Serenity Farm Sanctuary Shelters 200 Rescued Animals
The Hope & Serenity Farm Sanctuary is interested in engaging additional volunteers, ages 13 and older, to perform a variety of tasks at this working farm and private, nonprofit organization. The 11-acre sanctuary in Nokesville, VA shelters approximately 200 animals that have been rescued from neglect, abandonment or abuse. These include horses, sheep, pigs, donkeys, alpacas, cows, goats, ducks, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs and cats. The Hope & Serenity Farm Sanctuary offers chores for every skill, interest and age. These include feeding and watering animals, cleaning stalls and pens, sweeping, filling troughs and more.
“We are so grateful to each of our volunteers. These youths and adults play a highly valuable role in supporting the mission of the Hope & Serenity Farm Sanctuary,” said founder and Manager Renee Small. “Their generous commitment of time, and their compassion caring for our rescued animals, are essential to our operations within the community.”
Volunteers at the Hope & Serenity Farm Sanctuary are needed seven days a week from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Volunteers can choose their schedules in terms of number of days and amount of time committed. Youth volunteers must be able to work on the farm property unaccompanied by a parent or guardian. All volunteers will be guided and supervised by on-site staff.
