MCLEAN, VA — With 23 of 25 precincts reporting, the Associated Press declared incumbent Democrat Rip Sullivan the winner of the District 6 race in the Virginia House of Delegates on Tuesday night.

Sullivan garnered 24,006 (65.77%) of the votes compared to Republican challenger Kristin Hoffman's 12,449 (34.10%) vote total, according to unofficial results from the Virginia Department of Elections.

Fairfax County voters also overwhelming supported the $460 million Fairfax County 2025 school bond referendum, with 70.53 percent voting for its approval with 237 of 265 precincts reporting.

In addition, Fairfax County residents voted on the 2025 school bond referendum.

Schools Bond Referendum - (237 of 265 Precincts)

  • Yes: 268,501 (70.53%)
  • No: 112,188 (20.47%)

Here is the full text of the Schools Bond Referendum as it appeared on the ballot:

"Shall Fairfax County, Virginia, contract a debt, borrow money, and issue capital improvement bonds in the maximum aggregate principal amount of $460,000,000 for the purposes of providing funds, in addition to funds from school bonds previously authorized, to finance, including reimbursement to the County for temporary financing for, the costs of school improvements, including acquiring, building, expanding, and renovating properties, including new sites, new buildings or additions, renovations and improvements to existing buildings, and furnishings and equipment, for the Fairfax County public school system?"
