A 29-year-old McLean resident has been charged with burning of an occupied dwelling in connection with a fire Tuesday at a downtown home.
Fire investigators charged Chit Nyi Chitty, 29, 6900 block Old Dominion Drive, with the Class 3 felony. Chitty is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, the fire department said.
There were no injuries in the fire that snarled traffic for nearly two hours at Old Dominion Drive and Dolley Madison Blvd.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire, Tuesday, at approximately 12:55 p.m. at a single-family home at 6941 Old Dominion Drive, according to a statement from the fire department.
Firefighters encountered heavy smoke coming from the second floor and attic of the Cape Cod style home upon arrival.

Fire crews conducted an aggressive fire attack using multiple hand lines, containing the fire to one room on the second floor and the attic area. The fire was brought under control in approximately five minutes, the statement said.
Smoke alarms provided early warning for the occupants. Four adults have been displaced. Red Cross is providing support to the family.
Damage is estimated at $20,000, fire officials said.
